Cassondra O'Connor Earns Second MEC Runner of the Week Honor

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Point Park's Cassondra O'Connor was named the Mountain East Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the second time, the league announced on Monday afternoon.

The MEC weekly awards are presented by The Health Plan.

O'Connor took first place in Saturday's Greater Louisville Classic silver race with a time 18:37.0. The 5k time was the fastest of any MEC runner over the weekend, with league programs sending competitors to Louisville and the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University. The time of 18:37.0 was also her second-fastest of the 2024 season.

O'Connor anchored Point Park's second-place finish in the team standings at the Greater Louisville Classic, as three Pioneers finished in the top 30 at the event.

O'Connor was also honored as the Mountain East Conference Runner of the Week back on Sept. 16.
