
Point Park Finishes Runner-up at Greater Louisville Classic
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Point Park's Cassondra O'Connor took first place at Saturday's Greater Louisville Classic silver race, turning in a time of 18:37.0. The performance anchored a second-place finish for the Pioneers at the event.
The 5k time was the fastest of any MEC runner on Saturday afternoon, with MEC programs competing at Louisville and Lehigh's Paul Short Run. O'Connor's time on Saturday was also her second-fastest of the season.
Allison Plassio was the second PPU runner to cross the finish line in 16th place (19:56.5), while Lotte Zethof finished in 28th place with a time of 20:26.1. Additionally, Corinne Lee-Houser finished just outside the top 30 with a time of 20:29.1.
As a team, Point Park finished second with 104. Ursuline topped the team leaderboard with 79 points, and Indiana East rounded out the top three with 126 points.
The Pioneers will return to action next Saturday at the 22nd Annual Carnegie Mellon Invitational. The event will be run at Schenley Park in Pittsburgh.
