
Point Park Picks Up 3-0 Sweep Over Glenville State
GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Point Park picked up a 3-0 sweep over Glenville State in Mountain East Conference play on Saturday afternoon at the Waco Center in Glenville. The Pioneers won by set scores of 25-21, 25-18 and 25-22.
Point Park outhit Glenville .184-to-.145 and tallied 13 service aces during the victory.
The road win was Point Park's first of the season, as the Pioneers improved to 5-12 overall and 3-4 in MEC play. Glenville State falls to 3-15 overall and 1-6 in league play.
Giulia Follador led Point Park with 10 kills, seven digs and five aces. Eden McElhaney and Ana Baruh Krstic added nine kills apiece. McElhaney and Rachele Tessari guided the PPU offense with 17 and 13 assists, respectively, in the sweep.
Tessari also tallied a team-high 16 digs, while Mia Arndt chipped in 14 from her libero position.
Rita Kelly led Glenville State with 11 kills, while Keleigh Chrisman chipped in seven. The Pioneers held a 6-3 advantage in total blocks.
Point Park will return to action on Tuesday evening in non-conference play at Seton Hill. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
