Concord Tops Point Park on Friday Night

ATHENS, W.Va. – Point Park fell to Concord in three sets on Friday evening in Mountain East Conference play at the Carter Center.

Concord won in straight sets by scores of 25-23, 25-8 and 25-23 to improve to 11-11 overall (5-2 MEC) on the season. Point Park fell to 4-12 overall and 2-5 in league play.

Giulia Follador and Eden McElhaney recorded nine kills apiece to lead the Pioneers in the match. McElhaney also recorded a team-high 12 assists and added seven digs to her stat line. Additionally, Rachele Tessari chipped in on the attack with six kills, 11 assists and nine digs.

Mia Arndt led the Pioneers in the back row with 11 digs.

Concord outhit Point Park .318-to-.071 in the match. The Mountain Lions finished the evening with 44 kills and 10 errors on 107 total attacks.

Point Park finished the evening with an 8-6 advantage in service aces.

Meg Williams led the Mountain Lions with 15 kills, 10 digs and four aces in the match. Chloe Thompson chipped in 11 kills.

Point Park will be back on the court on Saturday afternoon at the Waco Center in Glenville, West Virginia. The match against Glenville State is set for a 3 p.m. opening serve.
