NORTH CANTON, Ohio – Malone and Thomas More picked up 3-0 victories over the Point Park volleyball team on Saturday during day two of the Hall of Fame City Challenge hosted by Malone and Walsh in North Canton, Ohio.
Malone won by set scores of 26-24, 25-16 and 25-15 to pick up the victory on Saturday morning.
Giulia Follador led the Pioneers with 10 kills and six digs, while Eden McElhaney chipped in seven kills and 12 digs in the match. Elise Wallace recorded a double-double with 25 assists and 10 digs, while Nadiushka Conde tallied a team-high 20 digs.
Grace Rosko recorded a match-high 13 kills to lead Malone, while Marissa Smith chipped in eight. Mallory Meinen finished the match with 24 assists and Macy McCauley led the Malone defense with 22 digs.
Malone recorded seven service aces in the victory.
On Saturday afternoon, Thomas More defeated Point Park by set scores of 28-26, 25-12 and 25-18.
McElhaney led the way for Point Park on Saturday afternoon with 13 kills from the outside. Mariah Perez chipped in six kills. Wallace tallied a team-high 28 assists against the Saints, while Mia Arndt recorded a team-high 12 digs from the backline.
Thomas More was led by Ebony Gomez with 12 kills in the victory. Brenna Young chipped in five kills and seven total blocks. Asia Ferrando led the Saints defensively with 15 digs. Thomas More had 33 kills and just 13 errors in the win.
Point Park returns to action on Tuesday evening against Washington & Jefferson in non-conference play. The match is set for 6 p.m. from the PPU Student Center Gym.
