Bio

Matt Filippelli joined the Point Park University women's soccer coaching staff for the 2022 season. The upcoming 2023 season will be his second with the Pioneers.

Filippelli has many years experience coaching soccer. He was the Central Valley High School boys varsity soccer coach for 12 years.  He led his alma mater for six WPIAL playoff ppearances. Filippelli also has three years experience with the Moon Area High School boys soccer coaching staff where he was a part of an undefeated season with WPIAL Section and WPIAL Class AAA championships in 2022. 

Filippelli is also a coach for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC Academy. He coaches the 2009 and 2010 boys. 

Filippelli holds a USSF Class D coaching license, and he is currently enrolled in the Class C certification. 

His playing career included being team captain at Central Valley High School, which then was known as Center High School. Filippelli earned his degree in elementary education from IUP and was a three-year member of the men's soccer club team.
