Women's Soccer Hosts Wheeling In MEC Action Wednesday

PITTSBURGH – The Point Park women's soccer team returns to Highmark Stadium on Wednesday afternoon to take on Wheeling University in a Mountain East Conference matchup.

During Wednesday's game, Point Park soccer will be celebrating First Responder and Military Appreciate Day.

Point Park comes into Wednesday's match with a record of 2-8-3 overall, including a 1-7-2 mark in league play. Wheeling enters the game with a record of 4-9 (3-7 MEC).

Storylines

  • Point Park women's soccer will be looking to snap a four-game losing streak on Wednesday afternoon. In the Pioneers last outing on Sunday afternoon, Charleston scored three second-half goals to pick up a 4-0 win over the Pioneers at Highmark Stadium.
  • Point Park's victories this season came against Salem (Sept. 29) and Davis & Elkins (Oct. 2) in back-to-back games.
  • Cara Spry and Vanessa Vazquez are leading the Pioneer offense with two goals apiece this season. Spry has a team-high five points this season with two goals and one assist.
