Point Park Hosts Charleston in Annual White Out Game on Sunday

PITTSBURGH – Point Park women's soccer will host its annual "Paint Highmark White" game on Sunday afternoon. The Mountain East Conference matchup against the University of Charleston is slated for noon at Highmark Stadium.

The Pioneers come into the match with a record of 2-7-3 overall and 1-6-2 in league matches. Point Park is looking to snap a three-game losing streak. Charleston currently sits in second place in the MEC South Division with a 9-3 overall record and an 8-1 mark in league play. UC enters Sunday's game on a three-game winning streak.

Storylines

  • Point Park has dropped back-to-back 1-0 losses in Mountain East Conference play, falling to West Virginia Wesleyan last Sunday and Concord on Wednesday afternoon on the road.
  • Point Park's two wins this season came on Sunday, Sept. 29 (at Salem) and Wednesday, Oct. 2 (vs. Davis & Elkins).
  • Cara Spry and Vanessa Vazquez are leading the Pioneers with two goals apiece this season. Spry has a team-high five points on the year with two goals and one assist.

  • Point Park will remain at home next week, hosting Wheeling University on Wednesday afternoon (3 p.m.) and Frostburg State on Saturday (11 a.m.). Both games will be played at Highmark Stadium.
