Point Park Picks Up 1-0 Road Win Over Salem

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Cara Spry's unassisted goal in the 28th minute lifted Point Park to a 1-0 victory over Salem University on Sunday afternoon at the Bridge Sports Complex in Bridgeport, West Virginia.

With the win, Point Park moves to 1-4-2 overall on the season. Salem slips to 0-7.

The Pioneers dominated the offensive possession in the game, holding a 15-3 advantage in total shots on the afternoon. Point Park had a 9-2 edge in shots on goal and had eight corner kicks in the victory.

The Point Park offense was led by Klara Bring with four total shots, including three shots on goal.

Defensively, Maggie Pappas picked up the victory, playing all 90 minutes in the Pioneer goal with a pair of saves.

Salem goalkeeper Sarah Cabera made eight saves in goal for the Tigers. Vanessa Allen and Niah Hidalgo each recorded shots on goal for Salem on Sunday afternoon.

Point Park returns home to face Davis & Elkins on Faculty & Staff Appreciation Day this Wednesday at Highmark Stadium. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
