CORAOPOLIS, Pa. -- Point Park University women's soccer was dealt a very tough loss on Saturday at the hands of Mt. Vernon Nazarene (Ohio). In a game played at AHN Montour Complex, the Pioneers lost 3-2 with the game-winner coming in the last 30 seconds.
Point Park (1-2-2) had a great start to the game with a goal in the first six minutes. It was a strong attack from kickoff from the Pioneers with Lorena Montanes making good on that with a tally at the 6:01 mark. Holly Pascoe assisted on the play to put the Pioneers up early, 1-0.
At the 15:50 mark, MVNU (3-3) took advantage of a rebound opportunity to tie the game up. That came on Madison Turner's goal.
The game stayed that way 1-1 until the final 20 minutes. MVNU went ahead when Brooke Frazier found Sydney Errington for a header on the back end of a free kick and a 2-1 lead.
Looking to draw even, the Pioneers achieved that when Pascoe made a play in the attacking area and put in her second goal of the year. That also gave her three points on the day. That came at the 85:24 mark.
