
Pioneers women's golf finishes up River States Conference Fall Preview
DANIELS, W.Va. -- Point Park University women's golf concluded its stay at the River States Conference Fall Preview with the final round on Tuesday, Sept. 26 from The Resort at Glade Springs in Daniels, W.Va.
The Pioneers had three individuals competing with Julia Goetz leading the way placing in a tie for 27th out of 55 golfers. She made three birdies on the week to shoot rounds of 87 and 99. The first-round score was a career-best for the sophomore from Taylor, Pa. A highlight of her two rounds was shooting 38 on the front nine on Monday, which were her final nine holes of the day.
Point Park's other two players both improved their scores from one day to the next. Sophomore Marissa Moriconi shot a 93 on Tuesday, which started off with her shooting 45 on the back 9. That included a par on the 18th hole. She place in a 34th. Senior Darian Lees shot 99 to drop strokes off her round on day two. She had four pars in the final round, which included a 47 on the front nine to finish off her final holes.
The Pioneers will complete their fall season Oct. 6 at the Westminster Invitational held at New Castle Country Club and will look ahead to the spring season. For the complete leaderboard from the RSC Fall Preview, click the results link above.
