HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- With two starters missing, Point Park University women's basketball dropped an exhibition game at NCAA Division I Marshall University on Monday, 121-55.
Gabriella Legister posted a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Pioneers, who remain 4-1 heading into their next game Nov. 22 at NCAA Division II Malone (Ohio).
Coral Homs added nine points and seven rebounds for Point Park with other scoring leaders being Aichata Ballo with eight and Isabella Pelaia providing seven points off the bench.
Point Park had early leads of 2-0 and 4-3 as Ballo went in for a couple of layups. Point Park pulled within 14-8 on another drive by Ballo before the Thundering Herd (2-2) made a run.
Legister, a 6-2 transfer from Kennesaw State, was 7 for 10 from the field. She scored inside to make the score 29-18 after the first quarter. The Pioneers were 9 for 15 from the field the first 10 minutes.
Aislynn Hayes, a transfer from Mississippi State, scored 20 points to power Marshall's run. She was 8 for 10 from the field and 4 for 6 from long range. Abby Beeman collected a triple-double of 13 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists along with three treys.
Ole Miss transfer Mahogany Matthews scored 13 points down low for Marshall while usual starter Roshala Scott had a game-high 29 points off the bench.
