Point Park Athletics alumna Katlyn Proof '23 '24 awarded inaugural Matt's Maker Space Fellowship

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Point Park softball alum Katlyn Proof '23 '24 was selected for the Inaugural Matt's Maker Space Fellowship in Ireland.

This fellowship is an expenses-paid experiential learning opportunity abroad for graduates to immerse themselves in maker education at SEK International Dublin School in Ireland. Proof currently works for Pittsburgh Public Schools (PPS) as an itinerant teacher, instructing preschoolers with special needs.

"It means so much to me that this fellowship is even a possibility," said Proof. "The last time I left Ireland, I thought I'd never get to go back. It is my dream to live, work and teach in Ireland. This is just another step in the right direction for me."

Proof was a member of the Point Park softball team during her time as a Pioneer. While at Point Park she earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education with dual certification in special education PreK-12 and a master's degree in athletic coaching and administration.
