
RSC Softball Championship: Point Park draws No. 4 seed May 2-4 in South Charleston, W.Va.

SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Point Park University softball has drawn the No. 4 seed from the RSC East Division in the 2024 River States Conference Softball Championship taking place May 2-4 at Little Creek Park in South Charleston, W.Va.
The winner of the double-elimination tournament will earn automatic qualification to the NAIA national tournament. The top four teams in each of the RSC East & West Division standings qualified for the championship. There are four teams on each side of the eight-team bracket with the winners from each side facing in the championship final.
No. 1 overall seed IU Southeast is the RSC regular-season champion and has already clinched one of the conference's automatic bids to the NAIA national tournament. The Grenadiers won the RSC West Division and open up with No. 4 seed Point Park (Pa.) University on Thursday at 2 p.m.
Shawnee State (Ohio) University is the No. 1 seed on its side of the bracket as the RSC East Division champion. The Bears begin versus No. 4 seed Midway (Ky.) on Thursday at 2 p.m.
The championship begins with a pair of games on Thursday at 12 p.m. No. 2 seed Rio Grande (Ohio) faces No. 3 Oakland City (Ind.) with the winner facing the IU Southeast-Point Park winner. Also at 2 p.m. is No. 2 St. Mary-of-the-Woods (Ind.) versus No. 3 Ohio Christian vying to face the Shawnee State-Midway winner.
There are a total of six games on Thursday with the losers from earlier in the day playing again at 4 p.m. for the right to advance to Friday. There are six more games on Friday with two winner's bracket games at 10 a.m. and two elimination games each at 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. The final day begins Saturday at 10 a.m. with the number of games needed depending on the number of teams still alive.
