McKenna selected River States Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Luke McKenna from Point Park (Pa.) University is the River States Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for Oct. 2-8.

The freshman from Lexington, S.C., placed 13th overall out of 90 runners at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational to push the Pioneers to third place of 14 teams. He had a time of 26:36 to finish right behind a teammate and lead to an average time of 27:10 for the team. 

McKenna continued his strong freshmen season running under 27:00 for the second time in three 8K races so far this year. He was just seven seconds off his career-best of 26:29 set two meets prior. After a week off, next up for the McKenna and the Pioneers is the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge Oct. 21.
