
Point Park men's track and field tune up with two more meets in preparation for Nationals
Point Park University men's track and field team competed at the Allegheny Marty Goldberg Gator Invitational and the Baldwin-Wallace Harrision Dillard Twilight for their final tune-ups before the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships being hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University from May 22nd through the 24th.
Allegheny Marty Goldberg Gator Invitational
Only two men took place in the meet for the Pioneers with Jakob Blatnik competing in the javelin while David Attram competed in the shot put.
In the javelin Jakob Blatnik once again hit national marks as he threw the javelin 60.75 meters for the NAIA A standard while earning first at the meet.
In the shot put David Attram had a distance of 12.22 meters to earn 11th place at the meet.
Baldwin-Wallace Dillard Twilight Meet
At the Baldwin-Wallace Dillard Twilight Meet, the Pioneers had eight members of the team compete.
In the only field event of the day for Point Park, Akeem Mustapha competed in the long jump with a leap of 6.74 meters to place seventh.
Competing in the 800 meter were Ramiro Ulunque who placed seventh running 1:53 and Elijah James coming in at 2:07
Juan Barrera, James, and Wesley Trower all competed in the 400 meter running times of 49.03, 49.61, and 51.08 respectively. Barrera's time of 49.03 gave him a top 10 finish as the time was enough for seventh place.
Kanye Mills hit the NAIA B standard in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 14.62 while placing 20th in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 57.88
Three Pioneers raced in the 200 meter with Juan Barrera running 22.37, Wesley Trower running 22.60, and Tyler Hare running 22.78
Jordan Kullen ran the 5,000 meters with a time of 16:38.27

Point Park men's track and field members who qualified for Nationals will be traveling to the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Indiana Wesleyan University from May 22nd through the 24th in Marion, Indiana.
