Bio

The 2023-2024 season marks Coach Josef Di Pietrantonio's third season as Assistant Cross Country and Track & Field at Point Park University and his 4th season overall coaching collegiate Cross Country and Track & Field (3 at Point Park University and 1 at Duquesne University). Coach Di Pietrantonio primarily programs and coaches for both men’s and women’s cross country, distance, and mid-distance.  He coaches events from the 400m to marathon. 

He has coached 1 National Championship Marathon Team, 1 Track All-American, 2 Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Year Award Winners, multiple NAIA National Championship individuals, team, and relay qualifiers, 1 RSC XC Women’s Team championship (‘22) and 1 Team runner-up (‘21), assisted in 5 RSC indoor (3 each for Men and Women (‘22, ‘23, '24)) and 3 outdoor (2 Men (‘22, ‘23) and Women (‘22)) track & field Team championships, individual conference championships (W: XC: 2, Track: 9; M: Track: 5), conference championship relays (W: 4x8: 4; M: 4x8: 3), and multiple athlete conference accolades and school records.

Di Pietrantonio competed collegiately in cross country and track & field at Duquesne University.  He primarily raced 3k-10k and was a part of 2 Atlantic-10 XC Team runner-ups.

Di Pietrantonio earned his Ph.D. in Decision Sciences and Engineering Systems from RPI, and conducts research in human performance as well as teaches college courses in mathematics, statistics, and engineering. He currently resides in Beaver, PA with his wife Liza.
