Men's Soccer Hosts West Virginia Wesleyan on Wednesday at Highmark Stadium

PITTSBURGH – The Point Park men's soccer team will return to action on Wednesday at Highmark Stadium against West Virginia Wesleyan. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.

Storylines

  • Point Park comes into Wednesday's game with a record of 3-2-1 overall and 2-2-1 in league play.
  • Point Park is 2-0-1 in its last three games. The stretch began with a 3-1 win over Frostburg State on the road back on Sept. 14. Last Wednesday, Wheeling and Frostburg State ended in a 0-0 draw at Highmark Stadium.
  • In Saturday's homecoming game against West Liberty, Point Park's Ruben Kuypers scored a goal in the 68th minute to lift the Pioneers to a 2-1 victory.
  • Through six games this season, Nils Benning has a team high in goals (3) and points (7). Cheroky Briard, Javier Morejon and Kuypers have each netted two goals this season.
  • In all, nine Pioneers have scored goals this season.
  • Fridolin Gefrorer has a team-high three assists for the Pioneers this season, while Morejon has recorded two assists. In all, eight players have recorded at least one assist for the Pioneers this season.
  • David Ali has played every minute in goal for Point Park this season. The graduate student has allowed six goals while recording 32 saves on the year. He has a saves percentage of .842.
  • Point Park travels to Salem on Sunday afternoon for a non-conference matchup with the Tigers. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
