Bio

Aaron Kollar enters his fourth season on the Point Park University men's basketball coaching staff for the 2023-24 season. His first year on staff in 2020-21 resulted in a River States Conference semifinals appearance. Kollar remained on staff with new head coach Kevin Reynolds in 2022-23.

Kollar is no stranger being a part of coach Reynolds' staff. He was on staff at Slippery Rock when Reynolds was there. Now is a chance to get back to those same winning ways at Point Park, which picked up right there for the 2022-23 season. Kollar is an intergral part of the Point Park coaching staff and a big part of the Pioneers' 13-win improvement from the year before to a 23-7 record last season.

Prior to Point Park, Kollar was on staff at the Community College of Beaver County under former head coach and current member of the UTEP coaching staff Bryen Spriggs. In 2018-19 at CCBC, the Titans finished with a 25-4 record and spent weeks as a nationally ranked team in NJCAA Division 2, rising as high as No. 4 in the country. During this run, CCBC was second-rated in several key statistics, including field goal percentage and field goal defense, assists (26.0 per game), and steals (13.9 per game).

Kollar played an integral part of Beaver County's player development and opponent scouting throughout the season. Upon completion of their season, seven of Beaver County's student-athletes graduated and became scholarship players at NCAA Division I and II institutions, highlighted by Chris Greene at NCAA Men's Division I Tournament qualifier Cleveland State.

Prior to CCBC, Kollar spent two seasons as a graduate assistant coach at Slippery Rock University under current Point Park head coach Kevin Reynolds. There, he helped the team -- led by all-conference honorees Micah Till (a preseason All-American in 2018-19) and Jared Armstrong -- to a 40-19 record, including Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference tournament appearances in both seasons on staff.

Kollar's responsibilities at the Rock included managing the program's daily operation including practice and travel, assisting in player development and helping coordinate opponent scouting reports and video. He started with the Slippery Rock men's basketball program as a student-manager in 2015, contributing to the staff in a variety of ways. Upon finishing his undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Programs with a focus in anthropology and minors in both sociology and sport management, Kollar earned his Master of Education in Technology for Online Instruction.
