
Isaac Santana named to NAIA Baseball All-American Second Team
KANSAS CITY, MO. -- On June 5, 2024 The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the 2024 Baseball All-America teams as selected by the NAIA-Baseball Coaches' Association All-America Committee. Point Park's senior infielder Isaac Santana was named to the Second Team for the first time in his career.
Santana, from the Dominican Republic, had an absolutely phenomenal year for the Pioneers as he hit .364 on the year. Santana hit 21 home runs during the season to claim the Single Season Home Run Record for the Pioneers and featured a go-ahead home run over IU Southeast in the top of the ninth of the RSC Championship game to put the Pioneers out front for good to bring home another RSC Championship to Pittsburgh. During the RSC Championship Tournament Santana belted five home runs for the Pioneers.
Another record was broken this year by Santana as the senior had 77 RBIs on the season to claim the Single Season RBI Record as well. While batting in 77 Santana also scored 63 runs himself and stole six bases.
Santana finishes his career at Point Park with 164 games played in while hitting .346 for his career at Point Park. He had 197 hits as a Pioneer while hitting 42 doubles, six triples, and 35 home runs. Santana drove hin 165 RBIs while scoring 143 times himself.
