Jared Campbell earns NAIA H.M. All-American honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Point Park University center fielder Jared Campbell pulled in a big honor by being named NAIA Baseball Honorable Mention All-American on Tuesday (June 6). The sophomore from Sunrise, Fla., was just outside of the NAIA All-American First & Second Teams and put himself among the top 12 outfielders in all of the NAIA.

Campbell had an amazing 2023 season hitting .378 with Point Park single-season school records of 17 home runs and 73 RBIs. The River States Conference Player of the Year was in his second year at Point Park since transferring from Florida Southwestern State. He still has two more years left with the Pioneers.

There were 17 players each named to the NAIA First & Second Team All-American squads. There were four outfielders on each of those teams, and four more outfielders were named honorable mention for a total of just 12 who earned national recognition.

Campbell was chosen All-RSC First Team and All-RSC Gold Glove to preceed his NAIA Honorable Mention All-American accolade. He racked up 68 hits in 56 games and had more than half of his hits go for extra bases. He totaled 36 extra-base hits in all with 17 doubles, two triples and his record 17 homers.

Campbell had an on-base percentage of .523, and he slugged .778. He also drew 52 walks, which was just one from tying the Point Park record for a season. Campbell's efforts led the Pioneers to the RSC Championship crown and their third NAIA national tournament in a row.

Defensively, Campbell had just two errors in 127 total chances while starting all 56 games in center field. That included him chasing down many potential hits going from gap to gap leading the defense for the Pioneers.
