
Point Park pounds Ohio Christian, 20-0 & 13-7 to take the RSC road series
CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio -- (RV) Point Park University baseball pounded Ohio Christian 20-0 and 13-7 on Day 2 of the series to take the River States Conference weekend two games to one. The Pioneers (23-10, 14-4 RSC) have won all six of their RSC series so far.
Point Park put up 33 runs and 32 hits on Saturday. The pitching had Javier Cardoso throw 5.0 scoreless in the opener with Kenneth Rolon and Joey Tedesco combining on the shutout in a game that was ended after seven innings due to the mercy rule.
More hitting and good pitching came in the nightcap with the Pioneers picking up where they left off in Game 1 with five runs in the top of the first of Game 2. Ethan Parker threw 6.1 innings of relief giving up only two runs as Point Park got the series victory.
GAME 1 -- POINT PARK 20, OHIO CHRISTIAN 0 (7 INN.)
The Pioneers were up 10-0 after two and a half innings. They added seven runs in the sixth to later make the score 18-0.
Point Park's 17 hits were spread across 10 different players, and 10 different players drove in a run as well.
Jared Cambpell had a big game going 3 for 3 with three RBIs, three runs and a homer. His three-run homer in the second inning made the score 5-0.
Crixtian Taveras was 3 for 4 with four RBIs and four runs. His three-run double made the score 9-0 in the third. Eddie Javier Jr. had a pair of hits and RBIs with those pushing the score to 11-0.
Michali Brito and Luis Gonzalez were both 2 for 4 and had RBIs in the later big innings. Gonzalez brought home two with a base hit, as did Matt Brandt in his only trip to the plate.
Chris Williams was 1 for 2 with an RBI double. Jordon Campbell was 1 for 2 with a triple, two runs and a walk.
Javier Cardoso II cruised through 5.0 innings giving up only one hit and facing only 18 batters. He picked up five strikeouts and no walks in his shutout outing.
Rolon struck out two in his scoreless sixth, and Tedesco worked a scoreless seventh with two strikeouts.
GAME 2 -- POINT PARK 13, OHIO CHRISTIAN 7
Point Park scored five runs in the top of the first only to have the Trailblazers answer with five in the bottom half. The score stayed that way until the later innings when Point Park put up four in the sixth and four more in the seventh.
The Pioneers banged out another 15 hits. The top of the lineup got things going right away with Eddie Javier Jr going 2 for 5 with two runs, Jared Campbell 3 for 5 with two runs and Isaac Santana 4 for 5 with three runs and two RBIs.
With those first three hitters setting the table, Chris Williams came through with a two-run single in the first. An RBI base hit by Luis Gonzalez and Jordon Campbell reaching on an error made the score 5-0.
Ohio Christian put together four hits in the bottom of the first to tie things up. Stephen Larkins had the big blow with a three-run double to make the score 5-5.
Ethan Parker came on to get out of the first inning and pitched the rest of the way for Point Park. He held the score there putting up zeroes the next five innings.
The top of the order got it going in the sixth to break the tie. Base hits by Javier Jr and Jared Cambpell set things up for Santana's go-ahead single. Three hit batters and two walks pushed in more runs.
In the seventh, Campbell and Santana reached base, and they came in on an RBI single from Michali Brito and a two-run homer by Williams made the score 13-5.
OCU did get two runs in the its last chance, but Parker ended up with only two runs allowed in 6.1 innings. He gave up six hits, struck out five and walked none to improve to 4-1.
Ohio Christian starter John Stantopadre battled through 5.0 innings giving up seven runs and 11 hits. He was lifted after giving up two hits to start the sixth. Three bullpen arms gave up six runs on top of his.

Point Park will go to Cincinnati to play a single game versus Wilberforce (Ohio) on Sunday, April 7. Game time has been moved up to 11 a.m., and the location has been changed to the Cincinnati Reds Youth Academy (2026 E. Seymour Ave., Cincinnati, Ohio 45237).
